COWHIDE TRACEABILITY

At the DANI and NOPE headquarters in Italy, VALORO's finished leather processing line turns wet blue leather into top-grain leather through over 50 processes. The leather is first rotated by drum and tanned for 5 hours, sammmed and shaved to separate the top grain and trimmed. Then, precise color matching and dyeing are performed using precision metering machines to ensure pure and lasting colors. After dyeing, the leather is dried and set by hanging and toggling (moisture content 14%–18%), then re-wetted and fatliquored to restore softness, rested for 12 hours, and milled and tumbled for 4–5 hours. Finally, finishing processes such as trimming, ironing, buffing, and sanding are carried out, followed by waxing, ironing, resin application, coloring, and nitrocellulose spraying to complete the finished product. Each hide undergoes strict quality inspections including laser scanning, tensile testing, and color calibration; only qualified pieces are stored in the warehouse.
